My papa text-ed me on 020113 upon touching down the office informing that we couldn't get the few dates my parents have pre-listed for bride’s family banquet in our desired resort hotel. Apparently, this hotel is fully booked in May 2013 through early June 2013 in conjunction of the Harvest Festival’s holidays, to which we have certainly overlooked! Some bookings were even made more than a year apart. Boy, we were so wrong by thinking that May would be a quiet month for weddings compared to the second half of the year. We have expected the troubles in securing a date but didn't except it turned out to be this hard :P. We have tried our best to avoid dates that come with triple (or double) convergences to evade unnecessary hassles and stresses or dates deemed auspicious that may be highly raved about by others. We weren't superstitious and the only things that were specified by both parents were not during school term holidays, a weekend and most importantly did not coincide with church events in both KK and Sandakan.
Initially, we were kept under a waiting list on 040513. But, since my parents were adamant to keep this particular venue and fearing of further adjournment, they finally decided to secure the nearest available date for the bride’s family wedding reception which will be on the 150613, almost one month after our marriage on 190513. In contrary to conventional wedding reception where bride’s banquet are typically carried out one weekend prior to the church wedding ceremony cum groom’s family reception. So, we are still likely to have our reception on the latter date, despite my mom finds it a little unusual (update: this info is valid until 080113 only) :).

Update {080113 afternoon}, mom was pleasantly surprised to be counter offered a date on 120513 by the hotel for the reception upon the booking cancellation of another customer. Mom rang me up immediately and broke the good news to me, therefore changes took place pronto. Hereby, the bride’s family side reception (pre-wedding dinner) will take place exactly one week prior to our wedding day just like what we have been planning but sort-of-shattered after that :P Now, what more I can say? This is more than just perfect! As for the groom’s family reception, the boss immediately made a call to our desired hotel after hearing my grouses earlier :P. Ironically, things went on smoothly where a verbal agreement was sealed in a jiffy and booking was able to be made almost immediately. I am so thankful that I am not working on this matter single-handedly. Bless my awesome parents and the wonderful boss who have been doing a great share of the work, in fact what they did were wayyy more than what I have contributed :). All Glory to God! He’s been good to us :)
