Abby turned (2y9m) last 20th May 2017.

Weight
Not measured

Height/Length
Not measured

Teeth
I did not count despite I help her with her teeth brushing every single night.

Motor Skills
  • Can draw with a stencil (210417).
  • She surprised me by helping me to button up my blouse and happily declared ‘aall done’ once she has done (240417).
  • Can go on a potty without help (300417).
  • Able to draw scallops (200517).
  • Can handle a scissor rather steadily.

Communication and Social Skills
  • Pinched my nose out of the sudden and exclaimed “Mommy, rubbish!” when she smelled something pungent (210417)
  • Loves the company of an adult in her activities. She would throw an invitation by saying ‘Come, let’s cut paper (etc) together’ (210417).
  • She recognises all numbers except facing some confusions between the number 6 and 9 (240417).
  • This sweet pie loves greeting us “good morning, mommy/daddy” and “good night” (290417)
  • She has been attempting to sing and get ‘1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive’ and ‘1,2 buckle my shoes’ mixed up (300417).
  • She often gets the personal pronounce mixed up. She has been
  • She has been using the two personal pronouns I and me wrongly despite us correcting her all the time. E.g “My love it!”, “My taller”, “When my bigger enough…” (090517).
  • She came across to a church kiddo friend carrying a backpack and exclaimed “Super Wing! Super Wing” until I later found out from his mom that cartoon character on her son’s bag was Super Wing :P (010517).
  • She thanked me earnestly for carrying her on my back “Thank you, mommy, piggyback me. Can you piggyback me (again) next time?” (040517).
  • Understands size comparison. Eg “Mommy is too big!” (070517).
  • Loves to use ‘cause’ for because. When I asked her why didn’t she put on her pants (only undies), she answered confidently “cause hot” (090517).
  • Recent favourite tagline was “OOpsie daisy” which she picked up from her gu-gu (160517)
  • She noticed a new housing on daddy’s Ipad and made an assumption that daddy has gotten a new Ipad and asked for his previous one “Abby wants daddy’s old broken Ipad”. LOL (180517).
  • Is in her Why oh Why phase. Never ending with her “what chuu doing?”, “What’s that sound?” and so much more.
  • Loves taking part in whatever board games adults are playing. This is her trying to name the vegetables printed on the game cards.

Emotional Development
  • She has been very generous with her stuff all these while. But, she somehow gave me a shock when she grabbed her kitchen toy set fiercely when another kid slightly took hers in the church (280417).
  • Can express and share her feelings/emotions. E.g “Mommy come back fast fast (from work), Abby happy” (200517).

Food and Feeding
  • I have started her own spirulina and she claimed that ‘her medicine’. To my surprise, she loved them very much (280417).
  • However, she dislikes the kids’ supplement I bought her (gummy bear) and I have given them all away to few kids of her age at the church.
  • She has been helping me to distribute the spirulina tablets to daddy one day but out of nowhere, she popped 7 pieces into her mouth and started munching happily! (100517).
  • Enjoys and had her fair share of the quiet and peaceful moment on random or weekend nights with a  cup of hot/ice blended chocolate but occasionally taxed a sip from daddy's cup of Americano or latte.

Her Firsts
  • We went for our first hiking that sprawled for almost 6km in total. Phew, it was really an experience when your girl refuses to get down and needs piggyback almost all the time (230417).
  • I was able to drop her off at the church for the whole session, finally with some expected drama in the beginning and sneakily leave the class after that (300417)
  • Applied for her first passport (050517).
  • She answered po-po in Mandarin for the very first time when she was asked whether the meal tasted good. She answered “好吃” (hao chi i.e yummy) – 070517
  • Received her first big kitchen set from mommy but was very upset when one the teeny hinge on her oven cover was broken but was later fixed and modified ingeniously by her gu-po (100517).
  • Had her first dental check-up. She was very proud that the dentist complimented her clean pearly whites (100517).
Daddy showing her how cavities are like

Records
  • We have finally enrolled her to kindy next year on her 32nd months (200417).
  • She grazed her leg and she exaggerated when she saw the sight of blood. Ever since plasters have been a hit in the house. She helped herself to replace it whenever she remembers to, or better said, whenever she feels like to (290417). LOL
  • She accidentally peed on the bed for the first time after many moons of dry nights (020517).
  • Down with flu and cough (110517)
  • Received her first 好宝宝 (i.e guai bao bao) award in her RE class (140517).
  • Presented a LEGO Clockwork Heart along with daddy to mommy on our anniversary day (190517).
  • Other words she can say: slippery, narrow, puddle, too much, blackout.
  • She has been using “too much” for quite a bit, or whenever she wants to express a massive amount. E.g “Don’t cut too much” – when I trimmed her hair, “Don’t drink too much” – when daddy pretended to have a big sip of her Yakult (190517).

Fashion
  • She dislikes damp cloth and will request for a change immediately.
  • Most of her fashion sense was attributed from the videos she watched. While watching Sheriff Callie’s video clip, she put her shorts over her head to pretend like Sheriff Callie with her big pink hat (200517).
Cheeky Sheriff Callie wanna-be

Sleeping Patterns
  • Was into her Tickety Tock book again (120517)
  • Still, wakes up in the middle of the night requesting for her milk fix twice a night.

Toilet Training
  • There were a few accidents of bed wetting at night throughout the month. Whenever she accidentally wet the bed, she would move down to the colourful mats we spread on the floor because she doesn’t want to sleep in a wet bed. Again, we were thankful for the invention of waterproof mattress protector (160517).
