19 Months

Abby turned 19months (1y7m) last 20th March 2016

Weight
Not measured.

Height/Length
Around 81cm.

Teeth
To be updated. But, a key to note that she is willing to get her teeth brushed again this time. Hence, I assumed her gums are no longer sore and her canines and first molar has fully erupted.

Motor Skills
  • Adept in blowing bubbles (the soapy type)
  • She can go up the stairs on a reverse manner with aid.
  • Can self feed during dinner time.
  • Can drink from an adult’s cup/mug independently. The liquid cotained are usually about 1/3 of the cup only.
  • Start doing stunts with her balls collection (i.e doing yoga postures, sitting on the ball and bouncing up and down).
  • She would run to her bouncer and sit on rather steadily these days whenever she is tired/or feel like wanted to.
  • Can dance according to the chicken dance song :P
  • Can emulate the “Five Hello Kitties Jumping on the Bed” (original version: Five Monkeys Jumping On the Bed) video she watched in Youtube with her Hello Kitty toy. She would tilt her toy over upon the phrase “one fell off and bumped his head”.
  • Has gained her confidence and is quiet adept in crossing the drain covered with zinc plate at Ah Tai these days.
  • Adept in putting coins into her coinbox printed by her deh-deh using 3D printer.
  • She was well-praised by all her grandaunts for putting down whatever she was playing outside and ran over to initiatively look for Ah Tai’s identical footwear when Ah Tai was assisted by her grandaunts to walk out from her room.
  • She accidentally deleted some of the videos I recorded on her milestones  in my handphone. Sigh :P
  • Loves her Duplo friends, the human characters in the Duplo Lego stash. Whenever she is spending her time with her deh-deh, they would give her Duplo friends a ride on her deh-deh's Lego Technics crane, racing car or truck at the same time stuffing more Duplo parts into the passenger seat :P
  • Still loves sitting on uneven ground or stairs or on a ball/stool/toy/bucket.

Communication and Social Skills
  • Can comprehend objects with sharp edges as ‘star’; be it ivy leaves, star fish, tiny stars print on my shirt (which i have never noticed myself).
  • Understands ‘cause and efffect’ and sometimes, she would oblige to our ‘reward system’.
  • Can finally call her ‘tai gu’ (hub’s elder sis) as ‘ta ta’ and that is enough to make SIL pleased as pie.
  • She pats on her chest signifying that she is scared of the snake image in her story book.
  • Bites spoon hard to show dissatisfaction.
  • Has an elephent memory. Her grandaunts took her out for a ride on Chap Goh Meh evening by telling her that they will be out to hunt for lion dances, her current favourite. Upon coming back, she threw a tantrum and gesturing both her index fingers up and down because she hasnt seen any lion dance during her outing.
  • On another note, she remembers what she wore and what she did rather well. I put her on her Hush Puppies blue dress for the second time which she last wore almost one month ago gesturing ‘gong xi gong xi’. When I put it on to her for the second time (18032016), she ran over to the same corner and did the same ‘gong xi gong xi’ gestures without being asked.
  • She is rather picky with her video selections now. She has an unpredictble choice of videos now.
  • Can distinguishes “duck” and “dark”. She calls all kinds of duck and occasionally mistaken chicks in yellow as “duck”. She would utter “dark” the moment we get into the room and pointing over to the switch.
  • Understands slightly longer instructions (i.e pick up the cloths and put it into the laundry basket, pick up your Duplo parts and keep it inside the box)

Food and Feeding
  • Loves papaya.
  • She can self-feed and we are allowing her to gets her hands dirty during dinner time. Surprisingly, it was rather clean except for rice grains on her shirt/pants occasionally. Ironically, it was a BIG mess back then when I feed her while getting another smaller portion for her to self-feed.
  • She has taken a liking to original corn thins and we find it approvable as its almost tasteless and made from original Australian corn (as claimed).
  • Dislikes mayonaise and miso soup. She would rather forego corns (her favourite) if dipped in either mayo or miso soup.

Records
  • Played sparkles for the first time.
  • Went for her third haircut (15032016).
  • Celebrated her deh-deh’s birthday for the second time (first when she was about 6mo).
  • She fell from the bed for another time (most likely) :( We were camping at Ah Tai’s that night when the boss went for an outstation trip. That morning, I woke up as early as 3.30am to get my work done in the dining area ouside and remembered to placed pillows and Abby’s high chair around the single bed. It was all dark as I didnt want to wake SIL up until I heard a loud cry and all I can see was missy sitting on the floor. I assumed she fell from the bed as the pillows I used to guard around the bed were on the floor. Thankfully, they were no bruise or anything on her.
